What was your experience with introducing solid foods? How old was your baby? Anything that upset their belly or that they particularly loved or hated?

Following to see what others say.  will be introducing my baby to solids soon. I m thinking of starting with cereal so that I can mix in breast milk to have something familiar to introduce.

Oatmeal and/or rice cereal mixed with some of her favorite baby food flavors helped us a lot. Eventually she was ready to try mashed potatoes for the first time and then she stepped up her eating game!

Started out with rice cereal at 6 mos and then bananas about a month later.

I do cereal first around 5-6 months, then pureed veggies, and then meat and veggies. Most kids love sweets so save those for later on, let them get a taste for vegetables. My almost 4 year old is the only kid we know that eats pretty much anything. While her cousins and neighbor kids only eat prepackaged foods or chicken nuggets and fries, she's eating veggies, soups, meat, etc.

We started at four months with veggie and fruit purees. Everything else has been easy more baby led weaning.

I don’t think you are supposed to introduce solids until 6 months. I have also heard to introduce veggies before fruits because they will not want to eat the veggies if they bvw fruit first!

I started my boy at 4 months on rice cereal. Not much, but that's just what we did and he seemed ok with it. We took our time introducing new foods over several weeks after that

We also started out with cereal, my son didn't like it at first but he gradually got used to it. Then we introduced other things little by little

Mine had avocado at about 6 months and still loves it to this day. I started out by taking a little bit of it and smashing it, mixing it with a small amount of water and went from there.

I first started my son with rice cereal by Gerber when he was about 4 months old because he just always acted so hungry. We started to add some purees more towards 5-6 months old with things like squash and sweet potato. He didn't have a allergic reaction to anything so got lucky with that.

We first introduced my daughter to solids after 6 months, and we started with avocado. She still loves it to this day. Her doctor suggested I wait to introduce a new one every 3-5 days after that to see if any adverse reaction happened.

We started right around 6 months because she wanted my food! I started out with a little oatmeal, then mashed bananas (those pacifier feeding things are amazing), avocado, mashed sweet potato ... We kept that rotation for a month or two,  introducing the occasional new food. Just think soft, low sugar or salt, not a choking hazard... Watch for potential allergies with each new food(eggs, wheat, nuts).

I started with oatmeal cereal at 5 months, then fruit, etc.

I feel like I hear everyone talk about bananas first.  Why, just because it's sweet.  Perhaps anything else!

I started my baby with organic berries using the fruit feeder. Then we used the baby cereals; rice, oat, and multigrain. We used the Beecher Nut brand. By reading the label the Beecher Nut brand seemed a lot more clean than Gerber. My friend makes her own baby cereal (she is all-natural mom) by grinding old fashioned oats in Nutribullet into a powder.

My oldest was 4 months when we introduced rice cereal in the bottle. Then 6 months when we added carrots first, then bananas. She has always been a foodie, so it was pretty easy to feed her. The second one, not so much. We tried the same process and it didn't go over the same, but she started solids around 7 months officially.

bananas and oatmeal seemed to work great for us!

We tried a variety of the gerber baby foods...and once I kind of learnt what my baby was liking more. Started making some of the similar combinations of purée at home😊

I started with baby oatmeal as well but it wasn’t well received. I ended up doing more baby led weaning than baby foods.

I started my two boys off eating baby oatmeal/cereal and we then did veggies.
