THIS MEDICATION CAN CAUSE HARM TO YOUR BABY: Atropine should only be used during pregnancy if medically necessary, as determined by your doctor. Very little data is available on the use of atropine in expecting moms, and the safety of its use during pregnancy is unknown. Most small studies that have looked at the use of atropine in pregnancy have not found a higher risk of major birth defects. However, atropine can cause changes in the baby’s breathing rate when used by expecting moms.
