Have any of you decided to join a network marketing job after having a child?

I am a little anti-MLM personally. Unless you can push a lot of retail product that you were able to purchase at the most discounted rates, you have to rely on signing up all of your friends and family members and hope they can sell a lot of product and sign up everyone they know too. 😆

Network marketing can be hard work with little pay out.  Do some research on virtual assistants.  Lots of jobs out there that allow you to stay at home and work on your terms with out having to sell stuff all day long.

MLMs unfairly target WFHMs in my opinion. I've seen way too many women get sucked in and burned out. I've known several that have gotten burned with several thousand dollars of merch and nowhere to turn. Be careful!

Be super careful with them. I had a friend who bought a ton of clothing from one for resale only to stuck with a bunch of product and no buyers. She was out a bunch of money.

I agree with the other posters. Please be careful if you're ever considering this. My SIL got tangled up in one and lost thousands of dollars. Those same sickos also prey on young college girls now because they have access to credit for the first time.

THIS. Super annoying so much that I unfollow or block FB people because of those types of posts!

I dont do MLM marketing myself but think that there are a lot of people out there that really hustle with their network marketing. It's not for me but some excel at it!

I've signed up before on the "dream" of financial stability and ended up being duped with lots of product and feeling like I pushed myself on friends and family to get on board when they didnt want to. I'm not a fan

I know a few people who have become very successful with MLM's, but I think they just got lucky and have to work a ton.  I respect individuals who try to make it doing a MLM, but sometimes it can be a little much.

I never had success with MLM's, though they had some fun times, I just was not able to really have the connections and support that it took to be actually successful.

There are SO many other ways to generate income and MLMs are NOT one of them.

I am very anti MLMs. There's some level of exploitation I feel. I've seen people get burned after having such high hopes. It works for some but sucks for many! I think reputable online jobs for Moms are hard to come by but the market is changing very rapidly and more options are available than when I first had kids.

I agree with Norah. There are so many other options available now. MLMs are just annoying most of the time.

I tried two different ones.  One I just wanted the product myself and another one that I thought I could just do on Facebook.  The parties just dried up for me and I did not want to keep bugging people since I HATE being bugged about sales parties too!

I definitely feel like there are no short cuts in life. MLMs promise a lot and give a sense of community and motivation but they reek of scam and opportunism. They just don't sit well with me. Even the parties feel like a drag sometimes. I recently had a job interview that lasted 30 minutes and at the end they told me I was hired and promised to send me a check to buy computer and office supplies. Right then I knew it was a major scam. I told them I'd be cashing it inside bank using the bank teller inside and not through ATM. Immediately the interview was over.  Just no response.

Unlike most of the comments, I would say with the right personality and drive, MLM companies could absolutely be a great income source. I personally know women bringing in 4,ooo-10,000 a month from MLM companies and i have seen first hand how life-changing that has been for them.  However, i would say that if you are just looking for a way to make money MLM companies probably aren't the way to go. If your goal is to make money it will definitely show and you will not be a success in the MLM world. No one wants to buy products from someone who is just trying to make some money off of you. There are so many ways to make money as a mom, freelancing online, blogging,  the list goes on and on. Do some research and find something that excites you.
