My friend and I were just discussing this - she is having her second baby and was wondering if it's "acceptable" to throw another big baby shower. How do you guys feel about this? If you've had more than one child, did you throw a baby shower for the next one(s)??

I had a baby shower for all 3 of my children. My oldest and second is 8 years apart.  Both boys so it was a little different.  And the only reason why we got a third was because we were having a girl.  It was a lot smaller and a sprinkle. Only moms, grandmoms, and sisters

I think it is perfectly acceptable. Even if you don't need a lot of the big stuff, it's still a great way to celebrate another little one coming into your life!

Majority of ladies I know didn't have a second baby shower unless it was more than 5+ years apart

i'm newly pregnant with my second baby and I really don't want to have a baby shower this go round. I don't want my friends and family feeling obligated to gift anything, I have quite a bit of stuff from my older LO and I also have a ton of people who have offered hand me downs, which I'm glad to accept.

Do whatever the expectant mother wants!  With my sister, we did a sprinkle for her second child.  With me, i didnt have the opportunity for a big shower for my first so I went with a bang for the second kid

We are calling it a sprinkle but it's just a baby shower!

I think having a smaller one is ok, or maybe say no gifts (knowing most people will bring something)!

I'm on my second pregnancy and where there are a few items I would like I feel my family and friends would kill me.

I think that a small "sprinkle" would be okay, I'm not a huge fan of baby showers for second kids. Unless you're having a baby of the opposite sex because then there are more items guests can bring. I'd say to list on the invites "no gifts" although honestly, I'm sure 90% of people would bring gifts anyway. I like the idea of celebrating each baby, but not setting up a full registry and asking for presents each time.

totally her decision to throw a baby shower, but I agree with a sprinkle! but maybe she wants her babies to all be even or equal.
