I have been craving lunch meat so bad. I have heard mixed reviews. Some women eat it as long as its from a reputable place. Others say hell no.
What are all your thoughts I am 26 weeks.

I've ate lunchmeat throughout my whole pregnancy with no issues. If you and baby are healthy it should be okay. See if your doctor has any recommendations.
My doctor told me its no longer a real concern with the way it's made. I'd just chat with your OB!
Why have I never heard of this? I ate lunch meat the whole time with my daughter. What's so bad about it?
I don't remember cutting out lunch meats. I do try to avoid nitrates and buy fresh from the deli when possible.
I ate lunch meat throughout my pregnancies but just warmed it up or had it toasted if I was at Subway or something. Even if there isn't a huge concern with it any more these days I am not the type to take chances on my baby's health.
I've definitely eaten lunch meat. If you're really worried, you can make a panini so that it heats up the meat.
Cutting out lunch meat would be entirely too hard for me. Heat.it.upppp.
In my humble opinion eat the highest quality meat especially if you are pregnant. Cheap meat is cheap for a reason. Do some online research. There are places in life to cut corners financially but with food it's important to give it a little thought.
Eat vegan versions of it like Tofurky!
You could heat it up!
My motto this pregnancy is if I crave it, I eat it lol. I've continued to eat it throughout my whole pregnancy both cold and hot with no issues. I prefer to buy it from the deli, but I'm sure pre-packaged meats are just as safe to eat.
A lot of people just microwave it.
Heat the lunch meat up.
Heat it up and you'll be good!
Tofurky is really good and since it isn't real meat there isn't any concerns there!
Just heat it up! Anytime I was craving it, I'd get either get a cooked sandwich, or heat I up and let it cool back down.
I'd just ask your OB because I've heard so many mixed opinions on this! I was told it was fine as long as you heat it up for like 10-15 seconds beforehand. Totally changes the taste for me when I do that though, so I don't even want it by that point lol.
You should listen to your body -- it won't lie you. If you need it, then take it. Or theres another option -- maybe you need any vitamins or minerals that lunch meat consists.
I always craved it throughout my pregnancy as well. I would just hear it up in the microwave first! It takes away any risk of bacteria.
I like making melts, like turkey or ham melts just like how you would make grilled cheese. Best of both worlds!
Heat it up! That's what I've always done Add some cheese and make it a melt like Sadie mentioned!
As long as you heat it up first, you should be able to eat it. I would make sure it was from a reputable place as well. The risk of it harming you or your baby is low, but you don't want to take any chances.
I agree with the making melts. I agree that you should consider WHERE it was purchased and how fresh it is. Eat it right away and prepare it appropriately.
I ate everything. Literally everything. I think you go with your gut. If you really think about how women smoke in the past pregnant and everything, you think an italian hoagie isn't that bad. I think whatever you feel comfortable doing should be up to you. I 100% agree it needs to be a place you know isn't serving hot lunchmeat.
I did during my first pregnancy. I kinda love deli lunchmeat... not the stuff that is all congealed together. The good stuff. There is a brand called Boar's Head. It is real deal meat. Not a lot of places sell it and it is kind of expensive but worth it. Plus I love salami...
I ate lunch meat throughout both of my pregnancies and never had any issues. Talk to your doctor though if you're apprehensive.
i have been craving deli style meat too, so some brands have some that are better to eat
No! IF you really want it, heat it up. make sure it's steaming
This made me LOL. This was me with my 2nd. I would buy a pound of salami and eat almost all of it while I did the rest of the shopping! He loves salami. I think the concern with deli meat is listeria. I don't know about you, but I don't know anyone pregnant or not who has contracted listeria from deli meat.
I would not have made it without fried bologna sandwiches. Not healthy, I know, but it was the only way my wife survived my mood swings.
My doc said it was fine, but for some reason I can't do it! I have eaten turkey warmed up, from Potbellys.
