THE SAFETY OF LAXATIVES DURING PREGNANCY OR BREASTFEEDING

THIS MEDICATION CAN CAUSE HARM TO YOUR BABY: Mineral oil and castor oil may cause harm to your baby when used during pregnancy. The use of docusate sodium during pregnancy may also cause low levels of magnesium in the mom and baby. Prolonged use of some laxatives could cause you to become dehydrated and have electrolyte imbalances, which may lead to health problems in your baby. Always ask your doctor before using any laxatives during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
